Our History
Philip H. Tripp, BMS Owner and President, has enjoyed working on luxury vehicles for more than 20 years. He started by repairing classic Chevrolets, and after honing his skills, earned a full scholarship to Lincoln Technical Institute Automotive Tech School in North Texas. Philip scored in the top ten on a school-wide I.Q. exam, and was granted interviews with several local business owners, who voted him “most likely to succeed.” He graduated at the top of his class with a 3.9 GPA and later studied at the prestigious BMW repair training facility in New Jersey. Philip then completed S.T.E.P., the BMW Masters training course, and became a certified BMW Master Technician.
In December of 1997, BMW of Dallas, formerly known as John Roberts BMW, employed Philip as a technician and trainer. He spent 11 years working as a group leader in charge of new technicians, and gained the expertise he would later need to open Bimmer Motor Specialists.
In 2008, Philip launched his own luxury auto repair business, Bimmer Motor Specialists. Over the years, the BMS team has grown to include Lindsey Popovici - Office Manager, Thomas Shakleford - Service Manager, Robert Burns - Lead Technician, and Marco Velasquez - Master Technician.
